Absences: AN absence is excused for illness, a valid doctor’s appointment or an injury that will keep you at home (Coach Summers will be the judge of that). All other reasons for absences are unexcused. Unexcused absences will be computed on a weekly basis. The first two unexcused absences will result in no competition that week. The third will result in dismissal from the team. Team meetings will be treated the same as practices. Failure to attend the team awards banquet will result in the forfeiture of awards. Leaving practice without permission is an unexcused absence.

| D. |
Tardies: Unexcused tardies are computed on a weekly basis. The first unexcused tardy will result in a team “reminder”. The second unexcused tardy will result in no competition will result in no competition that week. A third unexcused tardy will result in dismissal from the team. Tardies are excused when Coach Summers is notified prior to practice time through a parent or a teacher.
|
| E. |
No parents, boy/girlfriends or any other non-track team member will be allowed on the track or field during practices or meets. They are more than welcome to sit in the stands and support you.
|
| F. |
If you disagree or do not understand something a coach does, talk with your coach at a time when it is convenient for both of you. Never challenge a coach’s authority in front of others.
|
| G. |
Effort: You are expected to put forth a maximum effort during practice an in meets. Failure to do so will result in the coach sending you to the locker room, which will be followed by a meeting between you and Coach Summers. A second instance of this nature will result in dismissal from the team. This rule is called the “Hustle Rule.”
